Meet Marta Rodrigo

Marta is a senior journalist with more than 30 years of relevant professional experience in the field of road safety. She has been involved in the development of several Road Safety Strategies both for Regional Governments in Spain and outside our borders (Nicaragua, Portugal, Costa Rica, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Honduras, etc), where she provided an interesting point of view for communication campaigns, how to plan awareness activities and dissemination tasks. She has developed most of her professional career in the Spanish Road Association, in combination with other close international entities such as the Ibero-American Road Institute (IVIA), where she holds the position of General Manager since 2006.

She has been involved in the development of the communication plan of the National Road Safety in Nicaragua 2013-2018, where she had to assume the challenge of incorporating, for the first time in the country, communication activities to reduce the number and consequences of road accidents.

Her academic training includes not only a bachelor’s in communication but also some postgraduate studies in a wide variety of communication disciplines, covering from traditional communication managing to social media.

She is communications/behavioural specialist with a detailed experience of more than 25 years on marketing strategies. She is specialised in providing expertise in the technical and operational aspects of mobility road safety, transport, etc... and she has acted as a dedicated communication & dissemination manager in several international projects.
