Meet Alex Papacharalampous

Alexandros E. Papacharalampous acquired a Bachelor's and Master’s from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece with a specialisation in Transportation Engineering and a Masters from the Delft University of Technology (TUD), the Netherlands.

He has worked as a researcher in TUD performing transportation modelling for TOYOTA in the field of automatic vehicles (application of ADAS) and data analytics for big events for the Amsterdam Institute of Advanced Metropolitan Studies.

He performed his thesis for TUD in Dat. Mobility B.V., Deventer, The Netherlands, is a company specializing in transportation analysis and data analytics. The thesis is one of the first to utilize commercial GSM datasets for transportation analysis.

Alexandros has been working in the field of transportation data analysis and transportation engineering research since 2012 and has published multiple scientific papers and participated in many international conferences as a presenter on the aforementioned subjects.

In 2016, he founded AETHON Engineering Consultants which is working on research and innovation projects for smart cities, sustainable mobility, public transport, logistics, traffic safety and automated vehicles technologies. Through AETHON, he has been coordinating technically and managerially (sponsoring) all research projects of AETHON.

Alex serves as both a Lead Project Officer, overviewing all work conducted by AETHON’s team and representing AETHON in events and conferences, as well as a Technical Officer, due to his expertise in the transport and mobility sector, his technical knowledge, his knowledge and expertise in APIs and standardisation, as well as his experience in the field of business development. He has multiple years of experience in project management especially in related and/or similar RDI European projects of a magnitude similar to KEYSTONE, as well as in the authoring of abstracts and technical papers on the aforementioned fields.
