Meet Alexandros Georgakopoulos

Alexandros Georgakopoulos studied at the National Technical University of Athens in the School of Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences, specialising in the Field of Analysis and Informatics.

He completed the postgraduate program in Theoretical Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He began a doctoral program in mathematics at the University of Michigan in which he did theoretical research in the fields of Analysis and Probability. At the same time, he taught Infinite Calculus to undergraduate students for 5 years.

He left the PhD program with a master's degree in applied mathematics to devote himself to the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Worked at Exodus S.A. as a Software Engineer developing software for the HR and Trade Finance platforms of Piraeus Bank.

At AETHON Engineering he works as a Data Scientist, where he is responsible for the management and implementation of technical projects related to data.

Alexandros serves as a Team Lead – Lead Technical Officer, overviewing the technical work conducted by the technical team of AETHON, that is either leading (WP2) or contributing actively such as WP3, WP4 etc. Due to his experiences, background and expertise, and due to the nature of the technical work AETHON is conducting, Alexandros is the ideal Team Leader to oversee all work conducted, review reports, internal deliverables and final deliverables, attend Steering Committee meetings to address technical inquiries of the consortium, facilitate the exchange of information and data between partners and their respective technical teams, as well as co-author technical documents and papers, for dissemination purposes and for transferring the knowledge generated throughout the lifecycle of the project.
