Meet Jason Plymenos-Papageorgas

Jason Plymenos-Papageorgas studied National Technical University of Athens in the Faculty of Civil Engineering with a specialisation in Transportation Engineering. The topic of his thesis was the “Development of lane change prediction models with high-resolution trajectory data”. In particular, by exploiting neural LSTM models, the prediction of the future lane change of a vehicle was possible, while taking into account the characteristics of both the vehicle under consideration and its environment for the considered time window.

After completing his studies in March 2021, he served at the 98th National Guard Engineer Battalion in Lesvos (March 2021-July 2021) and at the Army General Staff (July 2021-December 2022).

During his military service, he contributed as a Civil Engineer in technical and economic feasibility studies. In the following period and until today, he is working as a Transportation Engineer in AETHON Engineering.

His day-to-day tasks include the creation of user stories and use cases using agile development, relational database design, design and development of APIs, backend and data modelling utilizing Python, physical implementation of widely used data standards and feature engineering and development of machine learning algorithms.

So far he has contributed both in European funded projects as well as in national co-funded projects, while also providing technical services related to Data Analysis and Transportation Data Standards.

Within KEYSTONE…

Jason has extensive experience and expertise on multiple data standards, standardisation and harmonisation, which he carries on expanding and enriching. He offers all his aforementioned expertise and knowledge on transport engineering and standardisation processes in the context of the KEYSTONE project to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions to the targeted stakeholders.
