KEYSTONE Launches Survey to Gain Insight into the Needs of the Logistics Industry

Digitalisation is revolutionising the world of logistics, offering greater visibility and connectivity. For the freight forwarding industry, it presents an opportunity to significantly streamline operations. However, it also poses strategic challenges, requiring a delicate balance between priorities, investments, customer demands, and capacity.

The partners of the KEYSTONE Project, an EU-led initiative funded to digitise and simplify logistics operations, have launched a survey to identify the primary needs of all stakeholders involved in the process and to develop tailored solutions for operators, cargo terminal managers, and border control authorities.

The survey results will inform the content of a web-based application, accessible to businesses and relevant European authorities, aimed at reducing workload and administrative costs associated with transport chain formalities.

The questionnaire, which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, is available in English, French, German, Greek, Italian, and Spanish.

KEYSTONE, which stands for Knowledgable Comprehensive and Fully Integrated Smart Solutions For Resilient, Sustainable and Optimised Transport Operation, brings together 15 organisations from 6 countries (Belgium, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom) under the auspices of the European Commission (EC), responsible for the project.

The Spanish Road Association (AEC), along with Transyt, the Transport Research Centre of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, represents Spain in the European programme. Additionally, AEC participates in KEYSTONE through another member, the Smart Transportation Alliance, of which the Association is a founding member.

The project was initiated in June 2023 and is scheduled to conclude on 31 May 2026.
