WP6 – Communication, Dissemination, Replicability and Exploitation Leader
Meet Smart Transportation Alliance (STA)
Founded in December 2014 and with headquarters in Brussels (Belgium), the Smart Transportation Alliance (STA) is a not-for-profit global collaborative platform for transportation infrastructure innovation across modes and the Smart City.
In the context of safe, sustainable and multimodal transportation systems, STA’s vision is the deployment of Smart Transportation Infrastructures connecting people and businesses.
A platform for knowledge management, STA’s mission is to lead and support activities improving the methods, technologies and standards associated with transportation infrastructures.
STA’s activities are focused on the following fields, represented by four Committees.
Smart Mobility: Activities focus on transportation infrastructures that enable people and goods to move faster and more conveniently. There is little doubt that transportation infrastructure is at the heart of the ‘Smart Mobility’ era, a key player in a changing world, more competitive and cohesive every day.
Smart Safety and Security: The transportation of the future relies on the development and operation of safe and secure transportation infrastructures.
Smart Sustainability: The Smart Sustainability Commitee focuses on developing the demand of modern societies demand, regarding efficiency, climate-resilient and socially meaningful transportation infrastructures.
Smart Financing: The Smart Financing Committee is working towards the improvement of the decision-making process that makes the most of new and existing transportation infrastructures assets.
Relevant Background & Expertise
STA holds extensive experience in implementing international and European-founded and co-founded projects in Europe and beyond, such as:
Hipeba: An EU-funded project that focuses on the development of safer and more competitive road systems by using high-performance steel.
FRONTIERCITIES2: An EU-funded Acceleration & Incubation Programme for new or already-developed FIWARE-supported applications addressing Smart City needs.
SMARTI ETN: An EU-funded project that enables graduates to conceive the transport infrastructure network of the future.
Additionally has organised various workshops, aiming at facilitating the exchange of international good practices connected to the methods, technologies and standards associated to transportation infrastructures. The STA Certified Training Programmes are ‘knowledge transfer’ courses specifically designed for mobility professionals, both in the private and public sectors.
With expertise and a strong focus on the transport and mobility sector, STA brings to the KEYSTONE project a deep knowledge of Communication and Dissemination activities, aiming to enhance the visibility of the project, the aims, objectives and results and engage the targeted audience. STA’s activities will run during the entire lifecycle of the project.
The key aim of STA actions is the widest possible dissemination of the project’s results to both the research community and all other interested/identified stakeholders.
The deep knowledge of designing innovative and diverse communication will ensure a meaningful outreach of all project’s results and outputs, through the effective use of all relevant tools (website, social media, print materials, articles and press releases, meetings at events, etc).
In summary, STA experience together with the driving force for effective communication will play a pivotal role in the KEYSTONE project, as the data and information gathered must be disseminated and shared widely.
