Towards A Sustainable EU Data Sharing Environment: KEYSTONE at the EU Data Logistics Festival
On 30 November 2023, KEYSTONE consortium partner, Aethon Engineering, represented by CEO Alex Papacharalampous, took center stage at the FEDeRATED project's final event in Brussels, Belgium and represented the KEYSTONE project in a dedicated discussion in the context of the EU Data Logistics Festival workshop on semantic interoperability.
The gathering was a melting pot of knowledge, experiences, and collaborative spirit, aimed at shaping the future of semantic interoperability in the logistics sector. It fostered an environment where experts and FEDeRATED partners converged with other diverse projects to discuss experiences, lessons learned, and the potential for collaboration.
The primary focus for Aethon Engineering and consequently for the KEYSTONE project was on leveraging FEDeRATED’s semantic model to contribute to the development of standardized, efficient, safe, and secure transport solutions for the logistics sector and enforcement authorities.
Mr. Papacharalampous had the chance to provide a comprehensive overview of the KEYSTONE project. The focus was not only on the challenges posed by the current status of applications and methods for law enforcement, as well as the business logics and issues the logistics sector faces, but also on the opportunities that can be grasped for the two projects to collaborate, exchange experiences, knowledge, lessons learned and insight, with the ultimate goal to deliver solutions that fully align with the EU vision and provide true added value to stakeholders in the enforcement sector as well as the logistics one.
The heart of the discussions revolved around the FEDeRATED project's developments in semantic interoperability. Participants were eager to learn how these developments could be applied in real-world scenarios. The goal was clear — to foster a truly federated network that could seamlessly connect logistics sectors and enforcement authorities across Europe. The FEDeRATED semantics were introduced, shedding light on both the "what" and the "how." The diverse range of projects and participants added richness to the experience, fostering an environment of fruitful discussion, not just for KEYSTONE but for all.
The Brussels event was not merely a conclusion but a springboard for future endeavours such as the innovative project KEYSTONE, creating a momentum that will propel these initiatives toward a shared vision of a more connected and interoperable future.
