KEYSTONE Joins Forces with ALICE to Innovate European Logistics Ecosystem

We are thrilled to announce that the Project Coordinator University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE) of the KEYSTONE project has recently signed a liaison agreement with the Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe (ALICE).

The two parties will work closely together to create a more resilient, efficient and interconnected logistics ecosystem, benefiting the transport sector in Europe.

ALICE was founded in June 2013 under the framework of the WINN project. It is linked to the European Green Cars Initiative (logistics section) and to the European Intermodal Research Advisory Council (EIRAC). It’s dedicated goal is to develop and implement a comprehensive industry-led strategy for research, innovation, and market deployment in logistics and supply chain management across Europe. Additionally, it holds an advisory role for the European Commission in implementing EU research programmes, including Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.

KEYSTONE successfully showcased its activities and milestones at the ALICE Innovation Village during the Transport Research Arena Conference (TRA) in Dublin, Ireland from 15 to 18 April 2024.

While KEYSTONE enters into its second year, this collaboration will further enhance its visibility by bringing together key stakeholders in the logistics sector. The key findings of the first year of the project - through stakeholder consultation - have identified existing regulatory fragmentation, the key challenges faced, and the technological and data requirements needed to promote innovation and growth in transport and logistics while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards across Europe (see also the dedicated article about the Stakeholder Priorities and Expectations for Logistics Digitisation).

This collaboration aligns perfectly with KEYSTONE’s mission: developing a sustainable, efficient, and safe transport system, allowing enforcement authorities to access data for compliance checks, and fostering a much-needed open dialogue with the logistics industry.

These efforts aim to provide significant benefits for the transport and logistics sector of the future!
