From 15 to 18 April 2024, KEYSTONE will be present at the TRA 2024 in Dublin, Ireland. Throughout the event, KEYSTONE will be featured at the ALICE booth – ALICE Logistics Innovation Village, (AL 101), showcasing how the project activities are redefining transport, paving the way for the digitisation of the transport logistics sector. Revolutionising Transportation in Brussels, Belgium
KEYSTONE shines at Connecting Europe Days 2024.
From 2-5 April 2024, KEYSTONE was present at the Connecting Europe Days (formerly known as TEN-T Days) which took place at the Square Meeting Center in Brussels, Belgium this year. KEYSTONEs presence was led by consortium partner Aethon Engineering and CIM (Interporto di Novara).
On 4 April 2024, Mrs Zoe Petrakou from Aethon Engineering pitched the KEYSTONE concept and expected outcomes for the logistics sector and enforcement authorities. Throughout the event, KEYSTONE project partners had the opportunity to engage in fruitful discussions on building sustainable, smart, and resilient transport and engage with the eFTI4EU Project.

KEYSTONE partners attend an innovative fair in sustainable logistics and transport.
From 12-15 March 2024, KEYSTONE project partners actively participated in this four-day event, delving deeper into the latest green and cutting-edge solutions in the sector and showcasing the recent developments of the KEYSTONE project.
CIM-Interporto de Novara, a KEYSTONE project partner represented by Massimo Arnese and Laura Pappalardo, had a dedicated booth throughout the four-day event, showcasing how KEYSTONE is stepping towards the digitisation of transport logistics in Europe and beyond.
Several KEYSTONE partners were present such as RINA, Cefriel and Gruber Logistics, who all participated actively in discussions, providing more information about KEYSTONE’s role in shaping the future of transport.
The FDG explored challenges and opportunities in Spanish transportation logistics.
KEYSTONE Second Focus Discussion Group (FDG) in Madrid, Spain
On 25 January 2024, the Transport Research Centre (TRANSyT) of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), in collaboration with Coventry University and the Asociación Española de la Carretera, organised a Focus Discussion Group to delve into the intricacies of transportation logistics within the national scope of Spain.

European Parliament: MEPs adopt stricter CO2 emissions targets for trucks and buses
Parliament adopts new rules to reduce pollution from heavy-duty vehicles.
On 11 April 2024, the European Parliament adopted new measures, already agreed upon with the Council, to strengthen CO2 emission reduction targets for new heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs). The regulation, addressing emissions from new trucks, buses and trailers, was endorsed by MEPs with 341 votes in favour, 268 against and 14 abstentions.
On 12 March 2024, the European Parliament and the Council agreed on facilitating the enforcement of road traffic rules across borders.
The agreement addresses issues of road safety traffic rules with new provisions improving cooperation between Member States. Besides the automated exchange of information between national authorities, mutual assistance procedures to identify the offender and to enforce fines are introduced.
Why data standardisation is key to streamlined logistics
Logistics faces unique challenges in data standardisation.
Data standardisation acts as the force that brings order to the chaos. In warehousing, standards exist for pallet sizes, container dimensions and warehouse layout optimisation, promoting efficient space utilization and product handling. For transportation management, standardisation in areas like electronic freight tenders, routing guides and shipment status updates are streamlining communication between logistics providers and shippers.
