Meet Maria Eugenia López-Lambas

Maria Eugenia is a Specialist in Land Transport (UPM, 2000), Maritime Transport and Port Management (UPM, 2001) and Sustainable Transport (UPM, 2005), as well as a PhD in Law (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, 1995). From 2016 to 2023 she was also Deputy Director of the UPM’s Transport Research Centre (TRANSyT-UPM).

She was in charge of the technical Secretariat of the CIVINET Spain and Portugal Network, of the CIVITAS Programme until 2020.

She has experience as a consultant in the public and private sectors (European Investment Bank, Deloitte, Venezia Port Authority, Steer Davies Gleave, etc.), having collaborated in the elaboration of several Sustainable Urban Transport Plans (SUMP) for different Spanish cities.She is the author of over 40 scientific publications on topics related to different aspects of urban transport (e.g. infrastructures, benchmarking, urban mobility management, mobility legislation, transport concessions, and SUMP).

As a researcher, she has worked on many research projects, such as SPROUT, SCALE-UP, KLIMATe (international), and e_MORES, DESPACIO, NEXT4MOB, PLAN4LEZ (national), among the most recent.
