Driving Digital Innovation Ahead: KEYSTONE’s Impact at InnoTrans 2024
We are excited to share the highlights of KEYSTONE’s participation at the InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin, Germany, organised by Messe Berlin.
The International Trade Fair for Transport Technology takes place every two years, offering participants the opportunity to exchange innovative ideas on mobility and transport over four days.
From 24 to 27 September 2024, the KEYSTONE project was represented by Professor Alexeis Garcia Perez, Professor of Digital Business and Society, and Visiting Professor at Coventry University, one of the 15 partners of the consortium.
Through his participation, he showcased KEYSTONE’s latest developments from Work Package 1 (WP) - Gap Analysis and State of the Art that ended in May 2024 and was dedicated to identifying stakeholders’ needs and current obstacles faced in the transport and logistics sector. His participation also focused on discussing the importance of the cyber security and privacy elements of the project, and their importance for current efforts within multimodal transport initiatives across Europe. Professor Garcia Perez held discussions with prestigious stakeholders from across the transport and logistics sectors, researchers, and industry experts across Europe, including the Transport Community and Europe for Rail.
These discussions centred on the need for a digital ecosystem that enables the secure and controlled exchange of freight transport information—the overarching goal of KEYSTONE. It was agreed that a digital tool ensuring reliable real-time data access and secure data exchange, while also being safe, efficient, effective, and sustainable, is crucial for the future digitisation of transport, particularly for multimodal transport hubs, such as Navarra.
Overall, KEYSTONE’s presence was highly impactful as the recent findings and advancements of the project might lead to new partnerships in research and innovation, reshaping the European transport system.
The next InnoTrans event will take place in two years time, on 22-25 September 2026 in Berlin, Germany.
