KEYSTONE to Share Innovations in Transport and Logistics at Key Conferences
The KEYSTONE project is celebrating its second year in June 2025 and will be actively represented at four major transport and mobility events across Europe, over the next three months. These conferences will provide excellent opportunities to share project milestones, engage with key stakeholders, and contribute to important conversations about the digital transformation of transport and logistics systems across Europe.
The first stop will be Rotterdam (The Netherlands), where the KEYSTONE project will take part in the Transport Research Symposium 2025 from 25 to 28 May 2025. On 27 May from 12:30 to 13:30 CET, Preetha Ramiah (Coventry University) will present the paper “Transforming European Logistics with a Unified API Model: Addressing Interoperability and Data Integration Challenges” at Poster Session 2.
The paper is authored by KEYSTONE consortium partners, including Zoe Petrakou, Charilaos Koutsis, Alexandros Papacharalampous (AETHON Engineering); Preetha Ramiah, Alexeis Garcia-Perez (Coventry University); Sabino Metta (Cefriel); Camille Leotta, Andrea Mutti (T-Bridge); Maria Eugenia López, Amor Ariza-Álvarez Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM); and Giulia Renzi (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), and explores the challenges of achieving cross-border digital interoperability in transport logistics. The research is based on a stakeholder survey conducted during the project's first year. A detailed overview of the findings is also available in the article published on the website:
From 2 to 5 June 2025, KEYSTONE will participate in the Transport Logistics Congress in Munich, Germany, where CIM Interporto di Novara, a project partner, will also participate. CIM will take part in a dedicated conference organised by Porto di Ravenna and the coordinators of the MERIDIAN project consortium, focusing on the interoperability of freight village platforms.
As part of the session, CIM Interporto di Novara will present on the practical challenges and opportunities related to platform integration across logistics hubs, highlighting KEYSTONE as a European-level success case project, with a special focus on its intermodal pilot and broader contributions to digital connectivity in freight transport.
Next, the Transportation Research Center (TRANSyT) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) will attend the XVI Congress of Transport Engineering (CIT 2025), which will take place in Zaragoza, Spain, from June 18 to 20, 2025.
Finally, KEYSTONE will head to Athens (Greece) for the International Symposium “Navigating the Future of Traffic Management”, taking place from 29 June to 3 July 2025. On 2 July 2025 from 13:45 to 15:15 CET, Zoe Petrakou (AETHON Engineering) will join the Technical Session 5E: Can we all get along: data-sharing ecosystems, which will focus on building cooperative data-sharing environments in the transport sector.
Representing KEYSTONE, she will share insights from the paper Creating a Collaborative Data Framework for Enhanced Traffic Management: Insights from the KEYSTONE Project, co-authored by Alexeis Garcia-Perez, Preetha Ramiah (Coventry University), Giulia Renzi (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), Zoe Petrakou, and Alexandros Papacharalampous (AETHON Engineering).
All these activities reflect KEYSTONE’s commitment to addressing digital fragmentation and building a more interoperable, collaborative, and resilient transport and logistics system across Europe. If you are attending any of the events and want to learn more about our project activities, feel free to contact the KEYSTONE partners!
